Wednesday Devo: "Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!" - Psalm 105:4
What a wonderfully encouraging thought, seeking the Lord continually. Though it is often easier read than done. As a child of God and a follower of Christ there may be times when we love God, but we have no drive to seek him. The furnace of our heart no longer rages hot for Him. What then? Do we give up or give in to indifference? By no means!
We must do our very best to stay in the Word and seek Him continually despite how we feel lest we begin to drift away(Hebrews 2:1). We have quiet time with God even when our schedules tell us we have no time (Matthew 6:6). Continue to pile the Scriptural kindling up in your heart little by little, day by day, so that when God moves in your life and He sparks something in that furnace, there is plenty ready to burn.
The Scripture you hid in your heart out of obedience(Psalm 119:11), perhaps even with little desire, will come alive and things you read will connect in brand new ways.
He has said He will never leave you nor forsake you(Hebrews 13:5). Even when the world and life says you don't have time for Him, set your mind on Him(Colossians 3:2), asking for His guidance(Proverbs 3:5-6), especially in the busy times. That is often when we need Him most! If you do not know Jesus as your savior the time is now, don't wait!
