WHO HAS MORE POWER?

Fact: Man-made ultra high voltage power lines can carry 800,000 volts.

Fact: A God-made tall thunderstorm cloud can hold over 100,000,000 volts of potential.

“Ascribe power to God... whose power is in the skies. Awesome is God from his sanctuary... he is the one who gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!”

– Psalm 68:34-35

As humans we love to think we have power. We may try to gain it in success, wealth, friendships, work position, knowledge, retweets, the right body type, or any number of other worldly things. We may even model our thinking after powerful characters in tv and film. There are also many leadership and self-help books trying to teach us to tap into that power. There are even popular false Christian teachers who try convince us we have the power to change ourselves. The Bible itself is the only power guide we need to follow, with our identity in Christ.

When we are able to look past these worldy things and the false appearance of power they give, we see the awesome power of God.

The Bible tells us He is where our help comes from (Psalm 121:1), we are powerless in our own strength. Anything that pertains to life and godliness comes out of His power(2 Peter 1:3). Our spiritual gifts are from God(Ephesians 3:7). The most incredible act of all, the raising of Christ Jesus from the dead, was done by God's power(2 Corinthians 13:4). The best part about that is that He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to our mortal bodies. Eternal life(Romans 8:11) - if we allow the Spirit of Christ to dwell in us by accepting Him as our savior and abiding in Him. as we walk in our daily lives.

So let us not strive for what the world would deem as power, but let us seek the power of God and His will for us through prayer and time in His Word.

Nothing the world offers will last.

God's power is what we want charging our lives.
