“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever — the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” – John 14:15-17 There are situations we face in life that make us feel alone, that make us long for something more. Often we try to fill that void with stuff, money, people, success, respect, pride, or even social media followers and likes.
You name it, and the world offers it as satisfaction. Unsuccessfully. If you just had (more) ___, you would be ___.
Yet Jesus has promised us someone in His absence that has the ability to fulfill our hearts deepest yearnings completely and forever.
With Christ as your savior, let the Holy Spirit displace that loneliness, or that need to fill the void. The Spirit is your help and guidance, a gracious gift from God, always present. Embrace it.
